Revealed: How To Boost Your Marathon Training
Marathon training is hard, nobody can argue with that but meditation will make it flow so much better, less struggle and more fun. Have you ever wondered how the pro marathon runners get into the zone, every time they compete? Entering a meditation-like trance is the key. Luckily, it?s something that you can learn too.
By calming and focusing the mind when you start running, you'll get more out of every single training session, and your races will be so much easier. You can bring total focus and concentration to what you are doing.
Have you ever had pre race nerves? What if you were able to use that energy and adrenalin, but calmly not giving you the jitters?
Through the use of meditation you can do this, control your mind and therefore gain a greater level of control over your body when you need it. It really isn?t that hard to train your mind to focus on what you want it to with a little bit of discipline.
What happens when you hit the wall? How do you deal with it? What gets you through it? As you lose yourself in the present moment the wall gets further away and sometimes it can even disappear altogether!
One of the revolutionary training techniques that has been used to great effect is to focus on each step as if it?s the only one that is happening. Not the finish line, not how far you?ve come, just the single step. When that is your only focus, you can get the most out of yourself. To most people?s surprise when they try this technique, they get to the need only to find that they?ve done a great time, with less struggle.
That's the secrets right there, you need to put in the effort but you make it a joyous effort rather than a struggle. It doesn?t need to be a struggle. This can be a really liberating experience as it can bring a sense of peace and joy to your training, which might have been lost along the miles that have gone under your shoes.
Although goals are an essential part of your training, you don?t really need to be thinking about every aspect of it while you?re actually running do you? At that moment in time you're running, that's the only thing that needs to exist for you right at that point.
It may seem odd at first, but you should see meditation will really help your marathon training. Get the edge that only the pros know about and really start enjoying your time training and racing.

Vanquish Your Opponent With This High Intensity MMA Workout
Fighters are the best conditioned athletes in the world - and they have to be! The nature of their sport offers no forgiveness. If they fatigue, they get knocked out. If they don't get knocked out, they may end up with a broken limb. Both options aren't very appealing so you can bet that the MMA workouts these guys go through are as intense as it gets.
So how do you go about training for such a demanding sport? Well, first things first - you need to analyze the demands. Fighting occurs at a high intensity - or at least it should. Of course, every now and then you get a "snooze fest" where the fighters are timid to engage. A high intensity sport requires high intensity training. You need to increase your lactate threshold because if you're unable to deal with the accumulation of lactic acid - you'll likely end up puking in your spit bucket between rounds.
Interval training is a must for your MMA workouts because that's exactly what the rounds are - high intensity intervals. Of course, well structured MMA workouts should include pretty much everything. You need to work on flexibility, increasing your lactate threshold, increasing your aerobic capacity, increasing your strength, your power and your strength endurance (all different). You have to work on your speed and of course, your MMA workouts also have to include the technique work and the "in the trenches" sparring and grappling against resisting opponents.
There's a lot that needs to be considered when it comes to designing MMA workouts and it goes well beyond the scope of a single article. However, that being said, here's one of my MMA workouts that I was doing in order to prepare myself before coming to Thailand.
Sample MMA Workouts - Workout #1 - Intermediate Circuit
*Can be performed in the aerobics room at your gym*
1. Skipping (medium-to-fast pace) for 2 minutes.
2. Box Jumps (5 boxes) for 2 minutes (lateral movement)
3. "Burpies" for 25 repetitions
Rest for 1 minute
4. Sprints (wall-to-wall) for 2 minutes
5. Shadow boxing for 2 minutes
6. push up plyometrics onto aerobic steps
Rest for 1 minute
7. Jumping lunges (30 repetitions)
8. Medicine ball rotary tosses (done with partner)
9. Hammer slams. Usually done with a sledgehammer and a tire but you substitute for a small barbell a pile of mats.
That's based round a 3 round fight. Obviously, the MMA workouts required for a 5-rounder would be longer. As mentioned above, when it comes to fighting, you absolutely have to be prepared and in order to prepare yourself, you can't neglect a single fitness component.

How to Shoot A Basketball
Basketball shooting is one of the main fundamentals of game and is the primary key to win a game. Along with dribbling, shooting is one of the first skills we often learn. But not a huge number of people learn it right from the start. Whether you're a good shooter or a terrible one here's the right way to learn it.
I have read from a basketball expert article about this idea. I will share it to you, this is about a pneumatic device which will really help you to be a good shooter. This is B-E-E-F which stands for Balance, Elbow, Eyes, and Follow Through. This is how all of these fit into play.
B- Balance yourself by keeping your feet shoulder width apart and your knees bent with your body facing towards the net.
E- Your elbow needs to be underneath the ball so that it creates a near or a full 90 degrees angle.
E- Focus your eyes at the rim so that you have a target to shoot at. Measure mentally the distance you need to shoot in order to give yourself a sense of how much power to put into it.
F- Follow Through (meaning don't stop in spontaneous) your shot when you flick your wrist. This should create backspin which means more control and a greater chance of bouncing in if it hits the rim.
Remember to incorporate those aspects in your basketball shooting.
Now it's time to learn how to shoot a free throw or a jump shot. They're practically the same shot except one small step, as you'll see in a moment.
How to Shoot
1. Get into the triple threat position (knees bent, feet shoulder width apart and body facing towards the net).
2. In one motion bring your arm near your forehead so that your strong hand is underneath the ball (with your index finger aligned to the center) and your other hand on the side. By now your elbow should be about at a right angle.
3. You should start straightening out your knees so that you're body is rising. Once you get on your tippy toes push off floor and jump (so that you're in the air). Avoid jumping when shooting a free throw. Just follow the rest of the steps on your tippy toes.
4. Now you should allow your weak hand (the one on the side) to leave the ball just before flicking your wrist (to avoid it from interfering). When you do flick your wrist, make sure you should have enough power and the ball has backspin on it. Remember to follow through.
5. During a game what most players do wrong is sit and watch their shot, instead of going to rebound it. So don't develop any bad habits and get your rebound even if it's going in.
I think you see how basketball professionals shoot the ball and what would be the best to form to have a great percentage of shooting the ball into the basket, so keep practicing this form even if takes some time to get used to.
