			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you love running like I do you try not to let anything stand between you and your regular constitutional.  I know avid runners who run in every condition imaginable:  rain, sleet, snow, fog, the dead heat of summer, it really doesn't matter what's going on in the outdoors, we MUST get our run in.</p>
<p>Does this sound like you?</p>
<p>If so, there are some precautions you should be taking before you embark on your run if you live in a part of the world that is prone to VERY cold winters.  Otherwise you could be doing yourself a huge disservice hitting the trail unprepared.</p>
<p>The most important thing to cover is yourself!! Make sure you have proper weather specific running clothes on.  Be sure to use technical gear that will wick the sweat away from your skin so that when  you stop running your sweat doesn't get cold and start freezing to your skin.</p>
<p>Also, be sure to dress in many layers.  Chances are once you start moving you will feel warmer, and even too hot with the amount of clothing on that is required to keep you warm when you're not in motion.  So make sure you have layers you can strip off, as well as making sure these garments are something you can tie to yourself in some way so you aren't stuck carrying them in your hands once they're off.</p>
<p>Then you'll have your clothing with you when you stop running and need to start layering your clothing back on for warmth.</p>
<p>Always cover your head for warmth.  More heat is lost through your scalp that you  might realize.  And, you may not feel it until it's too late, but your ears are very susceptible to frostbite so make sure you keep those covered in extreme climates.</p>
<p>If you wear gloves but you find that your fingers still get a bit numb by the end of your run, then either wear mittens (keeping all your fingers together will help them keep each other warm) or slip some hotshot warmers into your gloves to help keep your fingers safe.</p>
<p>While you are running in the frigid air, it's a good idea to breathe in through your nose to warm the air before it hits your lungs.  Feel free to breathe out through your mouth if you are working hard but breathing in through your mouth may cause pain if the air is super-frigid.</p>
<p>You can also wear a covering over your mouth and nose to help warm the air (and protect your face from the climate) but be aware that once you start breathing through the covering, it will likely become pretty wet pretty fast from the condensation in your breath.  So if you don't want a cold soggy piece of material stuck to your face it might be better to forego that particular piece of protection.  It's up to your personal preference and just how cold it really is outside.</p>
<p>Always be sure to wear footwear appropriate to your terrain. Is the ground frozen?  Or snowy?  Or both?  Get yourself a good pair of snow running shoes with proper grips, to prevent slips and slides and potential injury.</p>
<p>Take safety up one more notch and invest in some 'tie on' grips for your shoes, specially designed to grip into the snow and ice.</p>
<p>Most importantly of all is to make sure you bring a mode of communication with you, just in case you do slip and sustain an injury.  No sense lying out there in the cold freezing to death when a simple small cel phone could have saved your life, right?  Make room for one in one of your pockets.  You might wind up very glad you did.</p>

Yet despite all of the activity involved with the martial arts, the differences between cardiovascular workouts which lead to weight loss, and the former can be quite significant depending on the type of martial art one practices. Many people begin a running or jogging program with the expressed goal of losing weight. This was the case for me. And while any sort of vigorous exercise - running included - will help people to burn calories and lose weight, many people find it difficult to stick to an exercise program if the only benefit is on the bathroom scale.</P><P>The glow and resulting energy you experience from those lost pounds can quickly wear off if the sweat and labor to lose that weight is not enjoyable or worse simply boring. The trick to it is to find an activity or sport that you actually enjoy, and not worry so much about the weight loss. So, how can you make running fun?</P><P>On one level, you cannot. If you simply do not like running or jogging, there is not much that you can do to force yourself to like it. If the time you spend pounding the pavement is that unpleasant for you, the best bet is simply to find another sport's activity - otherwise, you may simply will not be able to stick with it. It is very easy to fall away from the things we enjoy least.</P><P>But if you do enjoy jogging, one way to make it more fun is to get off the treadmill. Many people find the convenience of the treadmill gives them more time to run, but often, staying in one place as you run, jog, or even walk can be a little boring.</P><P>Venturing out into the "real" world so to speak to run can offer variety and refreshment that you simply cannot experience in a gym. You can vary your routes to see new places, stop off at that popular coffee shop you love, or incorporate some hills in order to make the workout a little bit harder.</P><P>Another way to make running more fun is to find someone to run with. Sure, you can plug into your iPod as you run or even read a book if you have enough balance, but there is something about having someone to push you through your walls, and chat with as you coast, help to make the miles fly by, and before you know it, you'll be back home again, and looking forward to your next run.<BR /></P>  </p>

<p>Many myths have surrounded muscle building for women for a long time; the most popular one being that it increases muscle mass in women.  Nowadays, women are given an option to do weight training program as an alternative to aerobics, calisthenics and other forms of work-outs.  Women have been involved in weight training nowadays and they can tell the benefits it gives them.</p>
<p>The biological composition between men and women must be considered to force out the false beliefs about body building for women.  For men, the responsible hormone for muscle building is the testosterone.  Men produce testosterone naturally.  Men can produce testosterone ten times greater than most women.  Women will not develop as much muscles as men because of the amount of testosterone they produce.  It will actually be beneficial for women to go through muscle training program because it will make them slimmer, firmer and leaner.  Women will only put on more muscle mass if they will take testosterone supplements such as testosterone steroids and an extensive muscle workout routine.</p>
<p>So, unless you are a woman who already has a hefty amount of testosterone in her system, or are planning to ingest the hormone supplements, there is really no chance that you gain huge muscles just by muscle building.  Thin muscles burn more calories.  Loosing fat is never this easy for women.  While lessening fat, it is equally important to have muscle resistance which really helps a lot in building muscle mass.  Your weighing machine might not show a significant reduction in numbers, but you will definitely acquire a leaner, slimmer body.  More muscle mass means healthier than more fat weight.</p>
<p>Muscle training should be done by both men and women.  Apart from the two mentioned precautions above, generally, the rules in weight training apply to both men and women.</p>

Although high heels undoubtedly can help enhance an outfit or help make your legs appear toned, they will affect your body in such a way that can lead to negative effects on your running performance.</P><P>High heels put the leg in a position where the calf muscle is contracting. This is the desirable to many women because it makes the legs look more toned. The sustained muscle contraction can actually lead to a shortening and stiffening of the muscles that connect your knee and lower leg to your ankle, called the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles. This shortening of these muscles will decrease your flexibility during running and will also cause them to fatigue faster. Besides shortening your calve muscles, wearing high heels also puts more pressure on the balls of your feet which puts you at higher risk of developing stress fractures of the metatarsal bones since you are no long distributing your weight equally over your foot.</P><P>Although the best way to combat this problem is to stop wearing high heels, I understand that for many people, and for some occupations, this simply isn't an option. There are a few things that can be done to help combat problems from developing from wearing high heels. First, you can spend time stretching your calves each day that you wear high heels. The best stretch is to find a wall and put the ball of one foot against the wall while keeping the heel of that foot on the floor. Slowly move toward the wall until you feel a stretching sensation in your calve. Hold this position for 10 seconds then repeat 4 more times, alternating legs. Besides stretching you can also be more selective when you choose to wear high heels. If you have to walk to work, wear flats during the walk and change into high heels when you get there. Little substitutions like this really add up and help prevent any side effects from wearing high heels.</P><P>Many women in our society wear high heels for one reason or another but don't want it to affect their running performance. The best way to prevent any problems from happening is to stop wearing high heels all together. If this isn't possible then stretching and being pickier with when you were high heels will help to prevent any injuries from occurring.<BR /></P>  </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS watch, while a bit older than some of the Garmin GPS running watches, is still one of the best GPS watches available to runners. Since it is an older watch it can also be picked up much more cheaply than some of the newer Forerunners. The watch has scores of features and may take a little while to master, but the interface is intuitive and can meet a wide variety of sporting performance and fitness requirements.</p>
<p>The Garmin Forerunner 305 is a little bulkier than most sports watches which is it's weak point, but it offers the advantages of having the GPS aerial mounted in the watch rather than requiring the wearer to strap on an external device. it also has a wider screen allowing for an integrated map view of your surrounding area. The unit is waterproof, but not suited to swimming (the newer and pricier 310XT is the only waterproof GPS system in currently existance). The GPS chipset is SirfStarIII, which is more advanced than the older 101, 201 and 301 Forerunner watches. The watch will lock onto the GPS satellite signals faster and lose them far less frequently.</p>
<p>The 305 has large, easy to use buttons allowing you to view a large number of real-time fields while you are working out. You can view heart rate information, your total distance, calories burned and much more. The watch is compatible with a heart rate monitor chest strap, but this is an optional purchase that costs more. You are able to select from a variety of data display screens with the option of customizing the pages so as to view only the information you require. You can also set up the watch to cycle through information pages during your workout. In other words the watch caters to the individual's requirements, allowing some people to see how many calories they've burned, and others their heart rate information. The watch can also alert you during your workout as to whether your pace is too fast or too slow.</p>
<p>The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS system has the ability to transfer information to and from a personal computer. While the 305 does not feature the wireless ANT+ syste of it's successors, it can connect via a USB cable resulting in basically the same result. The unit allowes you to load individual workout routines that you create on computer into your Garmin GPS watch. The watch stores previous workout data allowing you to view your progress should you perform the same workout more than once.</p>
<p>Garmin GPS running watches are heavyweights in the running GPS market and the benefits of the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS watch, can not be emphasized enough. The Foreunner 305 GPS system is a fantastic training tool that can be purchased quite cheaply, due to it's status as an older model, yet measures up feature for feature exceptionally well against more modern offerings.</p>

One thing I do before I recommend a product is put it to the test myself. If I don't believe in it and see real world results on my very own body then I would have a tough time suggesting it to anyone else. Sure, I'm a man but ab exercises for ladies really aren't much different than what we guys do. Of course the training is almost identical and the final basics of exercise and fat burning are the same.</p>
<p>Out of the 2 that I recommend that are chock filled with ab workouts for women are How to Get Ripped Abs by John Alvino plus Turbulence Training by Craig Ballantyne. Each program is successful but there are differences in training which I point out to my clients.</p>
<p>How to Get Ripped Abs by John Alvino is a complete system of diet, work out, stretching routines, cardiovascular, includes the basics of fat burning so that you can learn why it works, and even includes meal plans and a recipe book. This is a whole system like no other that I even have ever reviewed. The photos and exercise descriptions are good for an individual not acquainted with each one of the advanced abdominal exercises.</p>
<p>The only drawback is the detail and I do not consider that a drawback for myself except for someone that is just looking for a three day per week plan and a few basic eating tips this may overwhelm them. If you're a significant athlete or bodybuilder used to detailed structure and regimen you'll little doubt appreciate the great lengths which John has went to by leaving no stone unturned. Follow his twelve week plan and the final reward will be not simply fat loss but a whole physique transformation since this works every muscle in the body harder than anything you have ever done. The ab exercises for women can push you to your outer limits.</p>
<p>If a really hardcore or regimented routine isn't really the perfect match for you there is an alternative that includes a lot of versatility. Turbulence Training has everything from home workouts to routines which even specialize in the butt plus thighs. The structure is three day per week workouts which bring together fat burning thru toning exercises and using bodyweight exercises in nearly all cases in place of fancy equipment. The results speak for themselves as you can see a lot of of the before and after photos of others who had success. Turbulence Training is the program I like for busy moms that only have a couple days a week to hit the gym or have to get their workouts in at home. The bottom line is that results are delivered if you just follow the workouts.</p>

And what is most important is that these exercises will not give you bulging biceps!</P><P>The 'bicep curl' exercise is a simple yet effective way of targeting the front area of the upper arms. Performing this exercise regularly along with the Triceps exercises (see my previous 'Flabby Arms' article) will result in great looking arms, ones that you can't wait to show to potential admirers and will get people asking you what your secret is! As you know from previous articles there is no magic solution, just a little hard work on your part that has a great pay off!</P><P>As always if you haven't got any dumbbells then a pair of water bottles or cans of food would be a great alternative. Anything in fact that is evenly weighted and comfortable to hold on to.</P><P>The Method</P><P>* Stand upright, looking ahead with shoulders pulled back.</P><P>* You can also perform this exercise sitting on a sturdy chair or Stability Ball.</P><P>* Have a dumbbell in each hand and elbows tucked in.</P><P>* Slowly curl the dumbbells up towards the shoulders area by bending your elbows.</P><P>* Do this in a smooth, controlled movement, keeping your elbows tucked in and breathing freely at all times.</P><P>* Stop the curl movement when the dumbbells get close to your shoulder area.</P><P>* Pause at the top of the movement and then slowly return the dumbbells to the start position.</P><P>You've just completed 1 repetition or rep. Repeat the above steps until you have completed a set of 12-15 repetitions. Aim to perform 3 sets of 12-15 reps.</P><P>Ladies if you're reading this and worrying that you're going to get bulky biceps like Arnie then read on! Put simply, you won't, you'd have to be lifting some really heavy weights to bulk up. The weights that you are lifting should be light enough to perform 3 sets of 12-15 reps, with the final rep being a bit of struggle. So you wont putting on muscle bulk, what it WILL do however is to help produce lean muscle, which is what you're aiming for.</P><P>Additionally males have a higher level or testosterone which is another reason why females will find it very difficult to add muscle bulk and size.</P><P>So ladies get on the weights and starting curling!<BR /></P>  </p>
